This course is aimed at beginners wishing to take creative control of their digital SLR or mirrorless camera. It covers the fundamentals of digital photography and camera functions. ISO, F-stops and shutter speed are all demystified and the various shooting modes explained. Focus, composition, shooting with natural light and flash are also covered.
Evening classes consist of practical tuition, some theory and a review of assignment work - designed to help put everything learnt into practice. A field shoot conducted during the course, gives students practice outside the classroom, with tips and advice from a professional photographer.
After the completion of the course, there is also an optional 5th week, which covers an introduction to processing your RAW images and editing them with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020. For the April course it will run on Tue 19 May from 7.00pm - 10.00pm, while for the July course it will run on Tue 18 Aug from 7.00pm - 10.00pm. The additional cost is $75. This can be booked separately. Note: this session is subject to minimum numbers.
