Earlier this month I was lucky enough to be photographing the Yarrabah Band Festival for the organizers, Queensland Music Festival. In its fourth year, the event held in the indigenous community of Yarrabah, south of Cairns, brings together some of Australia’s best music talent. This year it featured singer-writer, Montaigne (Jessica Cerro) and Australian music icon, Archie Roach. To co-incide with the festival, The Wiggles were in the community to film for their TV series – performing with students from the Yarrabah State School. It also featured a Local Bands Night to showcase some of Far North Queensland’s aboriginal and Torres Strait Island performers.
