Road Tripping the Mackay Region

There’s nothing better than hitting the open road and exploring somewhere new… even more so if you can do it from the comfort and ease of an RV.  So when the opportunity to explore the Mackay region in our very own Maui Motorhome came up, we jumped on it.  On our epic 5 day road …

Redlynch State College

Early Feb saw a day’s shoot at Redlynch State College to photograph some of their young students at study and play for the school’s promotional material.  Every school has it’s own distinct facilities, history, teacher and student population, and with that, it’s own personality and spirit.  For me, it’s always a good challenge to try …

O’Shea House

I recently had the opportunity to do the architectural photography for Julianne McAlloon Architects of the seaside O’Shea House.  This beautiful home echoes 1950’s beach cottages in a modern, open and dramatic form.  From Julianne herself, “The cheerful and balanced forms in elevation take its cue from the surrounding topography.  The strong linear roof line …

Yarrabah Band Festival

Earlier this month I was lucky enough to be photographing the Yarrabah Band Festival for the organizers, Queensland Music Festival.  In its fourth year, the event held in the indigenous community of Yarrabah, south of Cairns, brings together some of Australia’s best music talent.  This year it featured singer-writer, Montaigne (Jessica Cerro) and Australian music …

Cairns Private Hospital

The Cairns Private Hospital has recently undergone its biggest redevelopment in its 63-year history.  I was tasked by ADCO Construction to capture the finished works.  The new private wing adds greatly to the hospital’s number of rooms available, all with ensuites, and purpose-built to accommodate patients recovering from general and orthopaedic surgery.  It also features …

Regis Caboolture

I was recently down in Caboolture, commissioned by Regis Aged Care to photograph the facilities and residents of their new 60 bed extension at Regis Caboolture (formerly Canning Lodge).  The extension features a central garden courtyard with walking track and many other facilities that enhance the daily wall-being of residents.

Cairns Amateurs

September saw the running of the annual Cairns Amateurs – a 4 day racing carnival of food, fashion, fun and entertainment.  This year I was there on behalf of the organisers to capture all the action from this year’s event… from the Ladiest Fashion High Tea, to the Amateurs Ball and the two days of …

Cairns recently hosted Bauer Media’s 15th Annual Connections Conference at the Pullman Cairns International.  The conference’s aim is to provide its delegates, made up of 300 of Bauer’s most dedicated newsagents, with the skills to help the stores become the top retailers through learning, networking and developing their business.  It’s the largest conference of its …

Fraser Island

Ever since my first to Fraser Island several years ago, I’ve wanted to get back with my own 4WD and explore and photography the island at my own pace. Just before Easter I was able to make it down south to spend almost a week creating some landscape images of one of Queensland’s greatest National …
