For much of this week I was kept busy with school shoots for Catholic Education Services (CES), namely St Anthony’s School in Dimbulah (on the Atherton Tablelands) and St Therese’s School at Bentley Park. Over the last year or so I’ve been working with CES to gradually overhaul their schools’ imagery (there’s a total of 26 schools in their Cairns Diocese). Using the new images, they’ve already gone on to redoing their website (http://www.cns.catholic.edu.au) and some of their printed collateral.

We’ve very much tried to keep a consistent style across all the schools we’ve photographed so far… a style that very much reflects the family focus and personal development which is the hallmark of a Catholic education. In photography terms, it’s been all about keeping it fairly natural and low tech when it comes to capturing the students at study & at play. With a degree of pre-planning, we’ve also been able to maximise the shooting opportunities over the course of a school day. Luckily there’s no shortage of happy kids, enjoying their time at school to really make my job easy.
