In May Cairns hosted the 2014 Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE14) – the country’s largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event, providing a forum for Australian tourism businesses to showcase their products and establish important business links with those (media & tourism buyers) who take Australian tourism to the international market place. It was the first time it had been held outside of a capital city and Andrew Watson Photography and Timeless Films were chosen by Tourism Australia to provide the event photography and videography services.
While the schedule for ATE14 was frenetic, the brief was fairly simple… capture the event in a way that reflects how it’s all about people connecting, networking and and enjoying themselves.
Over the course of a week we covered all aspects of the delegates’ experience… from their airport arrival, through to their daily tourism appointments and the many social & networking events including the amazing welcome and farewell functions at the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal. Cairns itself put out the welcome mat for the 1,800 or so delegates and showed how business can be done well in the more laidback atmosphere of the tropics.
