In terms of remoteness, Saibai Island is up there… In Australia’s it’s bit of a novelty to be able to look across the water to another country, but that’s exactly what you can do on Saibai – a low-lying island a few kilometres from the Papua New Guinea mainland. Anyway, it was an adventure getting there by light aircraft: flying over the islands of the Torres Strait to photograph a newly built healthcare facility and staff accommodation.
